This class will explore several techniques for incorporating imagery into fused glass work. Students will learn to prepare and transfer images such as photos, electronic clip art, or hand-drawn doodles to silk screens without the need of a dark room or lots of expensive equipment.
We will cover how to select the best medium for your project such as enamels, glass paints, and glass powders, plus the firing considerations for each. Working with stencils and simple masks on framed screens will also be addressed plus the use of photo decal paper.
By the end of the class, students will have made screens, printed multiple pieces, and acquired enough knowledge to continue the exploration in their own classrooms.
Bring: Safety Glasses, No shorts or open-toed shoes.
