11/9, Dragonfly Sculpture Class

Glass cutting experience is helpful but not necessary!

The dragonfly is a reminder that we are light, and we can reflect light in powerful ways if we choose to do so. Here at the Glass Garden, we love the incredible beauty found in nature and are on a constant mission to recreate it in glass. Of course, nothing can compare to the real thing but we’re proud of our larger-than-life dragonfly sculpture on a rock, the second class in our sculpture series.

We will have the dragonfly wings and body all precut for you so after grinding and smoothing your glass you can focus on assembling your design. You must come in WELL BEFORE class to choose your wing color and dichroic pieces so we can have them cut and ready. We recommend Iridized glass for the wings. There will not be time on the day of class to choose glass colors so please come in several days before!

Cost includes: The black body and clear base glass, embellishments, kiln firing, a rock (apx 8-9 lbs) and attaching it to the rock. You must purchase ½ sf of glass for the wings and 4-1x1” squares of dichroic glass.

Bring: glasses. No shorts or open-toed shoes.
