7/31, Blooming Lotus Class

Date: Thursday, July 31st: 12:30 - 3:30 or 5:00 - 8:00pm

Glass cutting experience is helpful but not necessary!

Like the lotus flower we too can rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and emerge beautifully whole.

In this class, you will be shown how to cut out your big, beautiful lotus bloom and bud. While your flower starts out as white glass you will have the opportunity to make it any color you want with frit. Patterns will also be provided to make several lotus leaves. A final sprinkling of dichroic frit will add that watery sparkle we love.

Included: This class includes white glass for the base of your project and for your blooms. It also includes embellishments such as frit and a sprinkling of dichroic frit, kiln firing and an unpainted wood stand. You will need to purchase 1 sq. ft. of colored glass for your top layer and ½ sq. ft. of green glass (for leaves) of your choice. You will also need to purchase any precuts you choose to add. These must be purchased well before class, so they are ready for you on the day of class.

Bring: Glass cutting tools and glasses, if you have them. No shorts or open-toed shoes.
