Date: Sunday, November 24th: 9:30 - 11:30 OR 12:00 - 2:00
No experience necessary!
In this class, you will learn how to work with a "hot head" torch using propylene gas to create beautiful blown glass globes or twisted icicles.
You will make 12 globes/icicles (with a success rate of generally 6-9) and get to choose from many colors of frit to make your own color combinations.
You will learn how to melt the glass frit inside the tube and then you will either blow into it or just twist it to achieve its shape and size, making each piece one of a kind.
The globes/icicle will then be put into the kiln to cool down slowly and avoid thermally shocking them. You can pick them up within 4 days.
These make great gifts, or of course, you can keep them for yourself!!
Cost includes all the materials necessary to make 12 globes/icicles - with a success rate of between 6 - 9. Additional tubes can be purchased if time allows.
