10/10, Portable Glass Shop – Cutting Class

Date: Saturday, October 10th: 10 – 2pm

Glass cutting experience is helpful but not necessary!

In this class, you will cut glass for a panel using the Morton Portable Glass Shop system that works with the white cutting grid that we all use and quite likely already own.

It is a system of accessories that allows for exact cutting of glass strips, triangles, squares, and any other geometric shape needed to complete the design and all without making a pattern.

It cuts so accurately that little or no grinding is needed (and who doesn’t like that idea?)

If you already own the Glass Shop and grid, please bring them along so you can learn (or get a refresher course) using your own system as proper numbering of the grid will also be taught.

The panel in the picture was made using this technique in less than ½ of the time it would take to cut and grind these shapes using pattern pieces.

After practicing the different shapes using our glass, you will need to purchase the art glass you will use to make the project, which you will then take home and finish.

Cost includes use of the portable glass shop and grid, glass for practicing and a snack.

Bring: glass cutting tools and safety glasses, if you don’t already wear glasses. No shorts or open-toed shoes.
